Jey Alonso
Jey is a young architect and minimalist photographer. He shows his gaze of the world through his photographies. This vision starts in 2015 when he is finalist in the II Edition New Talents contest created by the art galleryArtevistas Gallery” and he is invited to cooperate in a group exhibition, being later chosen by the gallery as a fixed artist.
His works are based on the decontextualization of the photographed elements and the willingness to highlight urban structures that for most people would be unnoticed by seeing them routinely every day. Jey achieves this through his saturated and colorful vision of the world. It makes use of the framing and unusual colors to the human imagination to redefine these urban structures that we see daily and make them worthy of being looked at, again and again, each time with a different perspective.
His universe is one in which his passion for architecture, painting, and poetry converge looking for relationships between these worlds in which he can be inspired and advance artistically. Jey collaborates as a permanent artist in the art galleries “Artig Gallery.“ , “Artevisras Gallery“, y “CTAgaleria” y he has participated in grupal exhibition as well as solo expositions. "La Objetividad Minimalista" ("The Minimalistic Objetivity") is his most visited solo exhibition.
